'The largest old city in the whole Arab world apparently...' (don't tell anyone in Damascus or Sanaa; two of the places that make competing claims). One person there qualified this as 'the largest continuous non-vehicled area'. Trivia aside the place is truly magnificent and endlessly discoverable; I thought I'd been spoiled with Tunis but Fes dwarfed it. I didn't have nearly enough time to get any real sense of the place but these views are a sample of the details that were on offer.
